like, they all mean really generic things like “love” or “forever” or “i’m sorry” 

i thought you could combine flowers

like you could just send someone a bouquet and from the combination of hibiscus and posies and tulips they’d understand “the rebel leader is dead, rendezvous at the docks at 8, bring the dog, you will need lighter fluid and  a large tomato”

NJ Con- Fandom is getting way out of hand!

The incident at NJ con is all over my dash! People need to understand that shipping and pairings are something you talk about online; on Tumblr, on your fanfic sites and blogs. Not all ships are to everyone’s tastes.

Imagine being in a room full of strangers and someone wants to ask you what you think about this story where you fuck Misha, or where you leave your wife for Jared, or even where you suddenly discover you’re gay for Jensen. It’s inappropriate! Read whatever you want in the privacy of your own room, do not go up to actors and shove this smut in to their faces. Yes they’re aware of it and yes they put up with it, it does not mean they want to sit down and openly discuss people’s porn kinks in public.

When did Supernatural become more about the porn that some people read than about the actors? Or the storyline? Or the high standard of writers we have on the show, or the set design and the special effects department?

Some people go to the Cons with serious interest of supporting the show and supporting its cast. Not ‘Do you think Dean’s gay for Cas?’ ‘Is Dean a bottom or top?’ ‘Jensen, Jensen! How would you direct a destiel love scene?’ Seriously, pull yourselves together!

When I first joined the Supernatural fandom I loved the brother dynamic, the ‘family don’t end with blood’ connections between characters, the drama, the action. And now to be perfectly honest, I feel ashamed and embarrassed to say I’m in this fandom. Some fans have given us a bad reputation, and I’m tired of being labelled as what the immature, hateful, degrading side of this fandom portrays.

I don’t want porn on Supernatural. I don’t want Destiel to be canon. And most of all, I don’t want the actors to be bombarded by people shoving ships into their face. Do you really think Jensen enjoys people talking more about his character’s sexuality than his own acting ability?

At times our fandom has shown some of the cruellest, rudest and most hateful people I’ve ever come across. For every brilliant writer out there, for every artist, musician, editor, designer and dedicated supporter that promotes Supernatural in a good light, there is another fan who ruins it. And it’s gone far enough. Conventions are having to refuse questions about it, the actors are supporting this decision and you still think it’s ok to ask inappropriate questions?
